We all use fingerprint scanner and face unlock in our phones. We also use strong pin or pattern on our mobile phones. But there is a new thing i.e. Underdisplay fingerprint scanner.
Today, we talk about underdisplay fingerprint scanner and also how its works?
How its magic works that fingerprint scanner scan our fingerprints from inside the screen. How we can improve in future??
Under a screen is available a camera that captures the image of our thumb and fingers and matches with the registered fingerprint. Based on that you unlock your phone otherwise that shows try again.
We all think that how's it done??
This process only works on AMOLED displays(where is not any back light). It is not works on IPS displays because there is present a set up of back lights means that display is not a transparent.
But in AMOLED displays pixel lights up itself and the gap between this pixles camera captures the images.

In-display fingerprint scanners differ from typical, capacitive fingerprint scanners as they're placed under the smartphone display instead of somewhere on the phone's chassis. They can be optical or ultrasonic; an optical sensor, illuminates your fingertip as you press the screen and captures the reflection, then compares that to the image it got when you registered the fingerprint. They should be roughly as secure as capacitive fingerprint scanners , but are a little tougher to get to work in practice.
In Future,This feature is also used on all screen that helps to unlock phone when we click or touch on any screen. We only place this sensor under whole display. But this increases the cost of the phones.
We can make them more secure because optical sensor only work on 2D but ultra sonic fingerprint scanner that ultrasonic waves illuminates your fingertip as you press the screen and captures the reflection and creates a 3D map that 3D map is more secure and accurate.
