What is GPU Turbo?

GPU plays an important roles in today's life. With the help of GPU we can play games easily and also do all graphic works. GPU uses in both Computers and Mobiles.

What is GPU?

GPU means Graphic Processing Unit. We see images and visuals on computer and mobile screen is called graphics. GPU is a co-processor which do graphical calculations.In past times, this work is done by CPU but the increment of graphical applications increase the load on CPU. So, to decrease the load on CPU , GPU is introduced.  

What is GPU Turbo?

GPU Turbo is a hardware-software integrated graphics processing acceleration technology. It reconstructs the traditional graphics processing framework at the lower layer system, improving the user experience.

Benefits of GPU Turbo-

  • GPU Turbo will improve graphics processing efficiency by 60 per cent while reducing the SoC energy consumption by 30 per cent, exceeding the limits of the balance between smartphone performance and energy consumption.
  • The demand for  Graphic Processing Unit in smartphones has increadsed.  Today’s popular multiplayer online games demand heavily graphics capability for playing Games in Smartphones.like PUBG GAME. Cutting-edge technologies like AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality) and image rendering that also demand high graphic processing ability. GPUs for mobile platforms have always faced a series of technical problam like storage, heating Issue and energy consumption. Recently, Huawei and Honor has designed the GPU Turbo, a key technological breakthrough developed based on the companies’ accumulated experience in the graphic processing field. This Technology removes the storage, heating Issue and energy consumption issues.

Huawei and Honor, on June 7 announced  Honor Play – a gaming smartphone with Kirin 970 SOC, in China. This is the first Honor smartphone to feature the GPU Turbo technology co-developed Huawei and Honor.  It is claimed to boost graphic performance by around 60 per cent while reducing the energy consumption by around 30 per cent. The technology will soon be
available for other Honor smartphones, including the Honor 10, Honor View10, Honor 9 Lite.
