In Smartphones, Processor plays an important role. Because performance of phones depends on processor. Qualcomm provides many line-up Processor like 450, 625, 630, 660. Recently, Qualcomm added a new processor in their line-up i.e. Snapdragon 670 SOC. Let's Start-
Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 670 system-on-chip (SoC) as the successor to last year's Snapdragon 660 SoC. It is based on AI. This processor mainly used in mid range processor. The new chipset is built on the same 10nm process that the company previously adopted for the Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 845. It is an octa-core based processor. The San Diego-based company has provided the Kryo 360 CPU alongside the Adreno 615 GPU and Spectra 250 ISP.
In Snapdragon 670 Kryo 360 CPU is used which provides 15% higher performance than the Snapdragon 660.The CPU has two performance cores of up to 2GHz and six efficiency cores of up to 1.7GHz. Qualcomm also uses Adreno 615 GPU for better graphics performance. Snapdragon 670 Processor 25% faster than Snapdragon 670. Snapdragon 670 based on AI. The Snapdragon 670 has the third-generation AI Engine that is rated to offer up to 1.8 times AI performance improvements when using AI applications. They do many work like used in camera AI modes etc. The AI Engine supports various tools such as Qualcomm Neural Processing SDK and Hexagon Neural Network (NN) as well as Caffe, Caffe2, TensorFlow, and TensorFlowLite .
Snapdragon 670 based on X12 LTE modem .The X12 modem is designed to support download speeds of up to 600Mbps and upload speeds of up to 150Mbps. The SoC enables auto-switch between LTE and Wi-Fi - depending on which mode has the strongest signal quality and highest speeds at the time.
Qualcomm has support for up to full-HD+ displays on its newest chipset, in addition to up to 4K support for external displays and works on 18:9 aspect ratio. It is also support of Quick Charge 4.0+. It's means 50% phone battery charges in 15 minutes.
Snapdragon 670 initiate with Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP that brings features such as noise reduction, image stabilisation, and active depth sensing. Moreover, the ISP supports up to 25-megapixel resolution for single camera sensors and 16-megapixel for dual camera sensors. The new Spectra ISP is also capable of enabling 4K video recording with up to 30 percent lower power consumption than its predecessor Snapdragon 660.
